Currently, we are accepting submission for the online magazine. Submit your best poetry, fiction, or creative nonfiction pieces for consideration in the magazine. This should be representative of the best your piece can be. We welcome submissions from writers of any age, but particularly encourage teens to submit. You should expect to hear back in under two weeks at this time. Unfortunately, we cannot offer payments to our contributors.
Fiction: Short stories up to 3,000 words and flash fiction is the focus of our magazine. (You May email proposals for longer submissions). While YA stories are our specialty, other categories that could interest a teen audience are allowed. Mainly, we are looking for stories that exhibit strong voice, creativity, and prospective, regardless of which genre it comes from. Novel excepts or portions of scripts will be considered on a case by case basis, mostly dependent on their ability to deliver a self contained story to our readers.
Poetry: All types of poetry are welcome in the magazine. As above, the most important qualification is that resonates off the page in a way that makes the reader feel deeply.
Creative Nonfiction: We do accept nonfiction stories told in narrative form up to 5,000 words. These should be well researched for accuracy and include a list of sources.
Other Submissions: If you have a piece of creative work you would like to share with a wider audience, that you believe fits the magazine, but it does not fall into one of the categories above, email us with a proposal and sample of your work. We may accept the piece for a special feature if we feel it fits the magazine.
Rights: Please do not send any previously published material unless you have confirmed your rights to republish them. We're a firm believer in allowing authors to keep all the rights to their work.
Submitting: At this time, we are accepting submissions via email. Please send a cover letter with the length and a brief summary of your submission, an author bio, and an attachment of your piece in .pdf or Word to email@example.com. If you would like to receive feedback on your piece, please send it in a Word document. In your bio, we'd love to hear about what inspired you to create the piece as well as your personal story. Teen submissions will be given priority in reading, but we encourage everyone with a story to tell to submit.
